Company History

Although a new company, Organic Partners comes from a line of herb companies which started in the early 1980's.

Mike Brook, founder and Managing Director, has been involved in almost every aspect of the supply of herbal ingredients from agricultural production through to international commodity trading and the creation of branded products. Having started as an organic grower of medicinal plants in 1982, he is founder of Hambleden Herbs and owner/founder of the Organic Herb Trading Company, the UK's largest specialist supplier of organic herbs. Mike has been devoting his time and energy to Organic Partners since its establishment in 2004.

1982 Hambleden Herbs established in Oxfordshire to cultivate organic medicinal herbs.
1983 First trials. On-farm drying unit set up.
1984 Sales to herbalists and retailers.
1985 Organic Certification. First organic imports.
1986 Introduction of Hambleden Herbs branded products.
1988 Warehouse and packing operation moved off the farm.
1989 Client base expanded to include distributors and manufacturers.
1990 First exports.
1991 London warehouse opens.
1993 Range grows to approximately 400 dry products.
1994 Move to Milverton - offices, warehouse and herb production re-integrated.
1995 First overseas project in Namibia.
1997 Introduction of liquid products; essential oils and tinctures.
1998 Tincture manufacturing established on farm.
1999 Company separates - Organic Herb Trading Company is established to handle raw materials and ingredients. Hambleden Herbs becomes an independent brand.
2000 Major expansion of warehouse and offices.
2001 Increases focus on overseas development projects.
2003 Sale of Hambleden Herbs.
2004 Organic Partners established to cement partnerships with producers and engage in international trade on their behalf.
